Kafka on the Shore play in Osaka, June 21st to 24th

Yukio Ninagawa’s adaption of Haruki Murakami’s novel, starring Yuya Yagira (as Kafka) and Katsumi Kiba (as Nakata) is currently being premiered at Saitama Arts Center - but only until Sunday, May 20th. The next known dates are for Theatre Brava in Osaka, running from June 21st to June 24th.

Apparently the play is four hours in lenght. They have a Facebook page and a Twitter (both in Japanese only).

Yukio Ninagawa: “I tried as much as possible to present audiences with multiple-layered sets giving alternative visual information about the labyrinth that was hiding — or lurking — in the text of ‘Kafka on the Shore’.”

“I hope Murakami won’t see this play, if that’s possible.”

Apparently some voters in heavily anti-Amendment 1 areas are being handed ballots that do not include Amendment 1 on the ballot.

I would love to see someone try to give my mom a ballot without Amendment 1 on it. Poll workers have no idea what they’re in for.

Signal boost! If there are any NC people looking at this, make sure you get the right ballot!

Today’s the day North Carolina votes on Amendment 1, which would constitutionally make marriage ONLY between a man and a woman. VOTE NO ON AMENDMENT 1, and be sure to get the right ballot! -Jess

This is such a great video! It covers the whole fight to defeat #Amendment1 in #NC from @protectnc . Check it out and re-blog!

I know a lot of you get angry and curse NC because amendment one exists (understandably), but seeing such a diverse group of people come together to fight against discrimination makes me proud to be from NC.
